◦ The Medicine Drum ◦

Please note: the price listed here is a transferrable but not refundable deposit, which begins the process. The total price varies based on your choice of drum size, wood, hide and allies, which we will discuss. As a rough guide, the medium sized medicine drums start at $444 AUD (~$290 USD) + shipping. 
 
This is an invitation to be deeply involved in the process of bringing your personal medicine piece into the world. It's an invitation to co-create, to cultivate a great remembering of your medicine, your connection to mother earth, the feminine and the heart.
 
We begin with an initial consultation to determine the elements of a person's dream drum. The different choices of wood and animal allies make a big difference, so I go over what to consider when it comes to the hoop and hide and we look at what resonates for you.
 
I endeavour not to support any causes of suffering and so only work with naturally transitioned elements that have been treated with reverence and reciprocity. 
 
Once I've sourced everything for the piece we are to bring into the world, we decide upon a time and sometimes place - allowing for the drums to be born in physical places of power, under a particular phase of the moon, or other alignments which might be important to the person who is to be its keeper.
 
The hoop sits on an altar in a dry bath, with selected herbs, flowers and stones, while the other elements take a sacred soak - I bless the water and again, add and invite the selected plant and stone medicines. These can be different or the same as the hoop, chosen by the keeper or left for me to add as I'm guided.
 
The entire 'birthing' process unfolds in ceremonial space with clear and focussed intention, yet is also very much influenced and at times instructed by other energies. I establish directions in the hoop, treating it as a medicine wheel while also honouring the drum in its own right, as I weave and work. 
 
As each drum dries it develops, with the final result being a completely unique piece when it comes to colouring, clarity, markings, patterns and resonance. One of my favourite parts of this work is to share what appears in the process and to hear what meaning it holds for the keeper.
